I called Drew technology and no succes in getting suport. I got connectors to make my own cables but can not fid any wire settings ,can not find driver for it and software.

I cant make contact with a human being. They haven't responded to phone calls or emails. My toolbox wouldn't load up so I uninstalled and reinstalled. That worked but know it won't recognize my cardaq-m and says my serial is invalid. Specialty: engine, electrical, general repair, diagnostic, some hybrid, gravy jobs, turd polisher. Attached Images something like this. I finally got that resolved and now it says the serial is invalid but I've never had to input the serial before now.
Apparently a recent windows update caused the loading error message for the toolbox. They are working on a workaround apparently. I finally got some help from drewtech. When you enter your serial, d, leave off the first two so you would enter Everything works good this way. It looks to be the most popular for J So much that other companies have re branded as there own unit.
Is this in the standard toolbox software included with the tool or only through the OEM software??? I realize the OEM reprogramming is done through the OEM Sites, but Do you have to purchase any additional software or updates through drewtech specifically for their unit J units??? I am looking into venturing into this as the down time of getting customer cars to a dealer, or getting a Mobile tech onsite can be difficult.
The down time and inconvenience is really costly and this seems to be a more common need in the industry. Thanks for time! I haven't tried any key programming with it but I know it will not do nissan intelligent key fobs.

A J device simply allows its user to interface with a vehicle programmer using a PC or other device that can store and access flash programming media and re-program a vehicles powertrain modules.
In other words, its a go-between for a computer to communicate with the car's PCM. Soon, with any luck, we will soon be able to access the BCMSecurity and other modules with pass thru units. J has several differant specifications that are sometimes confusing to understand outside engineering circles. For all intent and purpose, the simplest explanation for these J specifications are as follows: J - deals spacifically with flash programing capabilities on two fronts; avalablitiy of data and a device that will allow anyone to program a vehicle.
In short, both software and hardware avalability for flash programing of a vehicles powertrain managment module. J - deals with access to manufacturer spacific modules and communications protocols. A good example of this is the DrewTech Cardaq and how it works with Toyota factory software Techstream to access any vehicle systems as opposed to just the PCM.
There is more later on this. J - This is a proposed conformance test that is in deveolpment by the Society of Automotive Engineers SAE to test the compliance of all J devices.
Once J is in place, all manufactures of J units should be able to pass the conformance test. In other words, a "stamp of approval" from the SAE. Uwe liked this post.
