I am getting this error I import boto3 into my python file like normal. I'm wondering if this is an issue because I am using python3 or because i am using the latest of boto3.

Any help would be appreciated! Boto3 is most definitely Python 3 compatible. It looks to me like this error comes from not importing dateutil, and doesn't have to do with boto3. If you're still not sure, you can paste some code here, that would be helpful. Those are my imports. OK, so looking at your error more closely, it seems that the error actually has to do with botocore, not boto3.

And botocore does require dateutil. But theoretically, if you installed boto3 using pip, it should have installed all of the dependencies for you, including dateutil.

If you run which pip and which python do they point to the same python installation? I think the library is called python-dateutil and thats why that error is coming up but when I install python-dateutil it says it is already installed. It looks like you're on OSX. So that looks like the path to a system level python, not brew python.

The traceback seems to match the system python path. The python your pip3 is pointing at could be a different python, but it doesn't seem likely. You say you're new to python. Can you please response with either a little detail and perhaps gist the ansible directory which contains the ec3. It is my guess that this issue is not a boto issue exactly but is perhaps caused by an environment issue: perhaps a problem with your PATH, the setup of python on your machine or even the target machine you are building with your ansible code.

Or perhaps it is as basic as not have installed boto at all could that be? It is hard to know with the information listed here. To maintainers: There is no activity and apparently no further interest in this issue.

I would retire this issue with recommendation to use boto3 - a stable environment path Personally it appears that most old issues in boto at this point fall into this category. The tag "closing-soon-if-no-response" is probably the right tone for everything that is 6 months or more old IMO.

Yeah usually when we apply the tag, we wait roughly a week to see if anybody responds, and if nobody responds we close. We just did not check back in on this issue, but thanks for commenting. Closing out issue on that note. We usually put the closing-soon-if-no-response on an issue if we had a question or comment that was not responded back to, as we cannot really help unless we get more information. That being said I would be hesitant on putting that tag on all of the 6 month and older issues, especially if we have not commented on it as an issue may still be relevant but we may just have not got to it yet.

Hi, I just had this exact issue when running an Ansible script in ec2. I am new to Python and Anaconda. I installed anaconda and install Scipy. When I try import scipy in the Python in command prompt on the Anaconda prompt, it works fine as below.

Usually that indicates that the notebook is running with a different Python or in a different environment from Python in the command prompt. Check sys. I had installed py27 and py35 on my system. Can you please let me know how to change to path which is used in command prompt. That will likely fix the notebook can see your Python 3 kernel. Hi, I'm encountering the same problem here. I've installed successfully tensorflow and anaconda on my Mac OS.

Everything goes fine in spyder, while when programming in Jupyter notebook, some modules seem to be not exist and cannot be imported. Then I checked the system and found: In spyder, sys. Both python version are 2. Now I want to change the python path in Jupyter to which spyder uses. Can anyone please tell me how to do this? Thanks a lot. See separate issue: I tried doing what Carreau suggested and although I was able to then import scipy it made it so I could now no longer import matplotlib which I could previously You have one Python environment with scipy installed but not matplotlib, and one with matplotlib installed but not Scipy.

Whichever one you pick, you'll have to work out how to install the missing package into it, using conda or pip. I have a similar problem. My problem is that when I launch my anaconda environment and access to Python script.

A --user flag is available. Or, if you know what your doing, use sudo to install with administrator permission. Thank you Carreau! I had solved this problem! Eh,I just reinstall the imgaug under the anaconda environment, then,it worked OK,sounds like a joke, hahaha, Thank you for your sincerity!

Carreau, I have similar problem. I high light our old HDP version 2. Great, answers above.
